Getting started

Create a free account, then save pages one of two ways:

Frequently asked questions

Why didn't a thumbnail or description show up for a bookmark?

After you save a page, Salacious fetches it in the background to fill in a description, image, and site name from that page's own metadata. This can take a few seconds, and some pages don't publish that metadata at all (or require a login Salacious can't provide), in which case a bookmark just keeps its placeholder thumbnail — that's expected, not a bug.

Can I make a bookmark public?

Yes — every saved bookmark has a visibility toggle. A public bookmark appears on your profile page and in Browse, and can be upvoted or downvoted by other accounts. A private bookmark is visible only to you.

What's the difference between saving a URL again and editing it?

Saving a URL you've already bookmarked updates that same entry in place rather than creating a duplicate — Salacious tracks bookmarks by URL per account, so re-saving is how the bookmarklet and extension both "edit" an existing save.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Delete individual bookmarks any time from your dashboard. For a full account deletion, contact us at the address below — we handle these manually to make sure it's really you asking.

Is there a limit to how many bookmarks I can save?

Not by design. If you're running a self-hosted instance, the practical limit is your own database's storage.

Still need help?

Email [email protected] and describe what you were trying to do and what happened instead — a link to the bookmark or page involved helps us track it down faster.
